I pointed at the car’s tag and chuckled out loud.
“Bet you didn’t get what that mark means, as a non-resident.”
Her smile faded fast.
ME: “That spot? It’s on our private property line. You had our cars towed from our land.”
She looked like she’d just swallowed a lemon.
HER: “B-but the HOA—”
ME: “Doesn’t cover our side of the street. We sued the last owner who tried this. Court ruled it’s a privately zoned section. That red stake? That’s the boundary. You just violated private property rights—and towing laws.”
Her jaw dropped.
ME: “So yeah, damages, legal fees, lost work time… you’re looking at $25,000 minimum. We’ll be sending the invoice. Hope that grinning was worth it.” 😏
She never made eye contact again.
And guess what? We now park three cars out front, just because we can.
