Amy was the poor girl in my class. She never had food, and everyone made fun of her clothes. I became her only friend and always brought her extra meals.
Then one day, she just vanished. No goodbye, no explanation.
Twelve years later, I was in the hospital, nervous and scared, when a nurse walked in. I froze. It was Amy.
She smiled, tears in her eyes, and said, “You will never know how much those meals saved me. You gave me hope when I had none. Today, it’s my turn to take care of you.”
At that moment, everything came full circle.
