It started like any ordinary morning in a busy downtown office building. A well-dressed businessman stepped into the elevator, coffee in hand, mind already on the day ahead. Inside stood a cheerful blonde woman who greeted him with a bright smile and an even brighter, “T-G-I-F!”
The man looked at her calmly, nodded, and replied, “S-H-I-T.”
The woman blinked, unsure if she’d heard him right. Thinking maybe he hadn’t understood, she repeated, “T-G-I-F,” this time more clearly.
Again, he smiled and said, “S-H-I-T.”
Trying to keep things friendly, she forced another smile and said it once more, slowly and sweetly: “T-G-I-F.”
And once again, he answered with the same mysterious letters: “S-H-I-T.”
By now, the woman was both confused and slightly annoyed. Finally, she sighed and decided to explain, “T-G-I-F means Thank God, It’s Friday! Get it?”
The man chuckled, glanced at her over his coffee cup, and replied, “I know. S-H-I-T means Sorry, Honey, It’s Thursday!”
The entire elevator burst out laughing as the doors opened — a perfect reminder that even in the middle of a hectic workweek, a sense of humor can turn an ordinary elevator ride into a moment everyone remembers.
