Lieutenant General Slams Trump for “Breaking Unwritten Military Rule

A storm is brewing in Washington after a retired Lieutenant General publicly criticized Donald Trump for what he called a “serious breach of military tradition.”

During a recent event, Trump delivered a fiery speech directly to top Armed Forces leaders — something the general says “crossed an invisible but vital line.” According to long-standing military customs, political figures are expected to maintain a respectful distance from active-duty military leadership when addressing partisan or politically charged topics.

The general, who spent over three decades in uniform, said Trump’s remarks risk “blurring the line between military loyalty and political allegiance.” He emphasized that this unwritten rule exists to protect the independence and neutrality of the armed forces — something considered sacred in military culture.

Trump’s supporters, however, defended the move, saying he was simply exercising his right to speak as a former Commander-in-Chief and rally support for “America’s strength and defense.”

Critics argue this latest controversy highlights the growing tension between politics and the military — a divide that could deepen as election season draws closer.

Whether seen as bold leadership or reckless disregard for protocol, one thing is clear: Trump’s words once again have the nation talking.
