Two Southern Belles were sitting on the porch of a big white mansion, sipping sweet tea and fanning themselves in the warm breeze.
The first lady said proudly, âWhen my first child was born, my husband built me this beautiful mansion.â
The second lady smiled politely and said, âWell, isnât that nice?â
The first continued, âWhen my second child was born, he bought me that fine Cadillac out front.â
Again, the second replied with her charming southern grace, âWell, isnât that nice?â
âAnd when my third child was born,â said the first, showing off her sparkling wrist, âhe gave me this dazzling diamond bracelet.â
The second lady, still smiling, nodded and said, âWell, isnât that nice?â
Finally, the first woman leaned closer, a bit curious. âSo tell me, darling,â she said, âwhat did your husband give you when you had your first child?â
With a sly grin, the second lady said,
âWell⌠he sent me to finishing school so I could learn to say, âWell, isnât that nice?â instead of what I was really thinking!â đđ
