That’s when I turned around. Calmly, I walked back to the table, took the tip off the tray, and said, “You’re right. I placed the cash in the hand of the busboy clearing a nearby table and said, “This is for someone who actually works.”
The waitress froze, speechless. As we walked out, the manager followed us to apologize, offering a refund and promising action. I just smiled and said, “Don’t worry — I wasn’t looking for free food, just a little respect.”
