A frustrated wife had enough of her husband spending every free moment at the local bar. “You care more about that place than you do about me!” she complained. After hearing it one too many times, the husband finally said, “Alright, come with me tonight and see for yourself.”
When they arrived, the bartender smiled and greeted him by name. “The usual?” she asked. The wife frowned but said nothing.
The husband turned to her and asked, “What’ll you have?”
She shrugged and said, “Oh, I don’t know… the same as you, I suppose.”
So, he ordered two beers. They sat, chatted, and after a few sips, a beautiful young woman walked up to the bar, waved, and said cheerfully, “Hi, sweetie! Usual for tonight?”
The wife’s eyes widened. “Who’s that?” she asked, her tone icy.
The husband smiled nervously. “Oh, that’s Nancy — she’s one of the regulars here.”
Just then, the bartender leaned over and whispered, “Don’t worry, dear. He’s harmless — he calls all of us ‘sweetie.’”
The wife stared, took a slow sip of her beer, and said, “Well, if he spends this much time here, I can see why.”
The husband chuckled nervously. That was the last night he ever invited her to the bar — but definitely the first time she finally understood why he loved it so much!
