Shianne Fox, a landscaper from Sydney, decided to take a stand against what she calls a clear double standard: men can work shirtless in the heat, but women can’t.
On a sweltering 104°F (40°C) day, Fox took to TikTok to vent her frustration after being told to keep her shirt on while her male coworkers worked bare-chested. “It’s a f—ing 40-degree day today, and I’m the one who has to wear my shirt while all the boys on-site don’t,” she said. “It’s sexist, and I’m really over it. I just want to be topless like the boys—but no, I’ll ‘distract them.’”
Fox, known online as The Bikini Tradie, often wears a bikini top to stay cool while working outdoors. However, her issue isn’t just about comfort — it’s about fairness. She argues that if men can go shirtless, women should have the same choice.
“I thought it was only fair if I could get mine off, too,” she explained. “I don’t think it should be distracting because, at the end of the day, they’re just a natural thing. We all have breasts. If you’re going to be childish about it, then grow up.”
